Flin Flon Soils
Study
Between 2007 and 2010 the
Flin Flon Soils Study and Human Health Risk Assessment took place in
Flin Flon/Creighton. The purpose of these studies was to determine the
potential health risks for people living in the Flin Flon area as a
result of metals in the environment from industrial operations.
Overall findings were reassuring but some low level risks were
identified, particularly from lead. It is important therefore, for
member of the community to be aware of activities that limit exposure
to lead. The Flin Flon Community Health Project is working to make the
community aware of these activities.
